The IMF/World Bank's Library Network is a group of libraries serving numerous diverse audiences by providing electronic and printed resources covering the full range of IMF/World Bank business. Primarily catering to employees and groups within the two organizations, the Library Network had several goals for its online presence:

  • Providing information and resources to users in remote geographical locations.

  • Structuring site content so both inexperienced and web-savvy users could find what they needed.

  • Presenting multiple online resources not integrated for searching in a helpful, easily understood way. (Examples of resources: internal and external databases, articles, abstracts, and reference guides.)

  • Describing and documenting the site information architecture clearly to the in-house staff who would build the site.
